Disinformation

Since the White House is encouraging Obama supporters to help them identify people spreading “disinformation” about the Obama healthcare plan, I thought I'd let my little conservative voice be heard, as well. I think it's quite telling that the official White House blog is asking Americans: “If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.” Wow. Although it doesn't say anything about what's going to happen to us anti-healthcare people, it does leave plenty of room for conjecture, I must say. Where are the people who were so spooked that the Bush Administration was going to

On June 15th, President Obama told the American Medical Association : “What are not legitimate concerns are those being put forward claiming a public option is somehow a Trojan horse for a single-payer system…So, when you hear the naysayers claim that I’m trying to bring about government-run health care, know this - they are not telling the truth.”

However, we are getting mixed messages from other important Democrats.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) at a Health Care for America Now rally: “And next to me was a guy from the insurance company who argued against the public health insurance option, saying it wouldn’t let private insurance compete. That a public option will put the private insurance industry out of business and lead to single-payer. My single-payer friends, he was right. The man was right.”

Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA) told Single Payer Action: “I think that if we get a good public option it could lead to single-payer and that is the best way to reach single-payer. Saying you’ll do nothing till you get single-payer is a sure way never to get it. … I think the best way we’re going to get single-payer, the only way, is to have a public option and demonstrate the strength of its power.”

Noble Prize winning New York Times columnist Paul Krugman: “[T]he only reason not to do [single-payer] is that politically it’s hard to do in one step…You’d have to convince people completely give up the insurance they have, whereas something that lets people keep the insurance they have but then offers the option of a public plan, that may evolve into single-payer.”

Hmmm. So who is spewing out the 'disinformation?'

Compassionate tyrants

Tyrants of the 20th and 21st centuries don't seem to be very honest with the masses. They aren't upfront and just flatly tell the people that they are going to starve them and control every aspect of thier lives. Tyrants nowadays are sneaky and try to hide their controlling agenda under the guise of compassion and care. Maybe other tyrants did this as well, but to my knowledge, most have been pretty clear about where they stood.

However, if one looks at this facade logically, there are several questions that come to mind: What is so compassionate about providing the same rotten healthcare for everyone and making it impossible to find any superior care, because it's driven off competition? What is so compassionate about raising taxes when we are already being taxed up to the blue blue sky? What is so compassionate about being forced to pay for healthcare when people don't want it?

I suppose we'll just look the other way about how Obama said during the ABC Special that he would simply cut out the level of care given which,
“evidence shows is not necessarily going to improve” the patient’s health, in order to cut costs. Better hope that you're not infirm and need some type of surgery because most likely, that decision won't be made by a trained doctor, but will be made by some untrained government worker, to whom you are just another bed.

But of course, Obama's health care will be successful. Oh, of course...because he says so. Let's just hope that if you are sick in the hospital that they won't need your bed. Never mind, that we already have a prime example of how well the government runs healthcare with the Veterans healthcare. My Father in Law is a disabled veteran, and he never gets the actual medication he needs, but they are able to supply him with a life supply of pain killers.

The American people love liberty, independence, and competition. This is why the tyrant types have to lie. Because the American people wouldn't go down with this if they were told the truth.

Compassion?

Every time I hear Rush Limbaugh say that the history of the world has been tyranny, except for the Untied States, something ignites inside of me. I love the United States, the unique principles of freedom, upon which it was founded, and the inspired men who established this country, not for their own personal benefit, but for the betterment of their posterity. Throughout the history of the world, the United States has been the only country to embrace the liberty of humankind, and seek to protect it.

Here's the exact quote from Limbaugh. I think I'll post it here so I can read it whenever I want. It's riveting:

"But, it's about controlling everything. People just can't understand. Americans, the average American, you tell 'em, for example, this guy's purposely destroying the US economy. That doesn't compute. People do not understand. They can't think that there are Americans who would do that. They can't think they've actually elected a president and have members of Congress who genuinely want to deny the basic liberty and freedom our US Constitution and other founding documents have proclaimed.

When I have people tell me this, I point out world history to them. The history of the world is tyranny. Human beings are viciously mean to each other. The history of humanity is tyranny, torture, dungeons, dictatorship, fear. The exception has been the United States of America. That's the whole thing behind American exceptionalism. The exception to human nature and world human history is the United States of America. The people that want to control others so that they have more power, the people that want to limit liberty around the world, they're all over the place. They've always been all over the place. They surround us. That's why we're despised and feared. We represent the only opposition to them, and they're everywhere. They're in the Middle East. They're in Europe. They're in Asia. They're in South America, Central America. They're all over. We are surrounded. And now we have a president who's sympathetic to those people and is engaging in policies that will replicate the same kind of loss of freedom and liberty that has been the traditional lot in life for the average human being since the beginning of time.

So you tell the American people, "Okay, they've finally done it, these statists, these tyrannical types, they've finally gotten their foot in the door of the United States of America," they have. And this has been something that a lot of Americans have been fighting for a hundred years, these people have been around, we fought it 50 years, certainly. But they never stop. The quest for this kind of power is insatiable."

There are a lot of people out there that live in this fantasyland of hope and change, and completely miss that Obama is about control. They seem to think that tyranny can't happen here in the US, that total control can't/won't happen here, and they believe that Obama is just a compassionate person that only wants to help people-- He only wants to take care of them.

Compassionate? Are you serious? Oh, yes, we the American people are too stupid to take care of ourselves and to make our own decisions. We need a government who will take control of our lives because we can't do it ourselves. Who are the Liberals kidding? This is not about compassion. This is about control and power.
